When this engine was placed in service it replaced an aging engine and a reserve rescue truck. This brought additional vehicle rescue capabilities to the northern portions of our fire district.
This is also the first engine two 150' of 1 3/4" lines in the front bumper. The lines of choice when you have to pull into a driveway. They easy to deploy and reload, so it's a standard for our engines ever since. It is also the first engine with a built in class A foam system. This used to be Engine 73 until 2021. It got moved to station 2 and became Engine 23 to give the firefighters a larger cab. A replacement engine is on order and scheduled to arrive in 2023.
